Please note – In addition to the price of tests, there is also a phlebotomy cost for the withdrawal and handling of your sample. This is a standard charge across all clinics. The cost of sample handling is £50, but this is discounted to £30 only if paid in advance. Please choose the pay later option to pay the full amount upon your arrival at the clinic or choose pay now in order to pay in advance and secure the discounted fee.

What is Celiac disease?

Celiac disease is a long-term or chronic autoimmune disorder that affects your digestive system. An autoimmune disorder is diagnosed when your immune cells start attacking your body. Celiac disease is triggered when you eat foods that contain gluten — a protein found in cereals like wheat, barley, and rye and foods like cakes, bread, and pasta. If you have celiac disease, your immune cells react to gluten and attack it. This, unfortunately, can damage your small intestine.

What can I test?

Tissue Transglutaminase IgA

A tissue transglutaminase IgA (tTg-IgA) test is used to help doctors diagnose celiac disease. In this autoimmune disorder, the immune system mistakenly thinks that gluten — a protein in wheat, barley, rye, and oats — is a foreign invader. It makes antibodies that attack an enzyme in the intestines called tissue transglutaminase (tTG).

Endomysial Antibodies

Your body makes antibodies to the gluten called endomysial antibodies (EMA). These autoantibodies cause your intestine to swell. They can also keep your body from fully absorbing nutrients from food. Long-term (chronic) swelling and increasing damage to the small intestine leads to malnutrition, among other problems.

Total IgA

Immunoglobulins or antibodies, play an important role in the immune system and help fight against harmful bacteria and viruses in the body. There are five classes of antibodies and several subclasses. Immunoglobulin A or IgA protects against infections of the membranes that line the mouth, airways, and digestive tract. IgA antibodies can also be found in saliva, tears, and breast milk.

Gliadin Deamidated IgG

A gliadin antibodies test is used to help doctors diagnose celiac disease. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder in which the body's immune system mistakenly thinks that gluten — a protein in wheat, barley, rye, and oats — is a foreign invader. Gliadin is a portion of the protein found in gluten.
