What can I learn from this test?

The CA 19-9 blood test may be used to monitor certain types of cancer and cancer treatment. CA 19-9 levels often go up as cancer grows and go down as tumors shrink. It can also help predict how cancer may behave over time and check whether cancer has returned after treatment. High levels of CA 19-9 are often a sign of pancreatic cancer. But high levels can also be a sign of other types of cancer or certain conditions that aren’t cancer.

What can I test?

CA 19-9 (GI Monitor)

Cancer antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9) is a protein that exists on the surface of certain cells. CA 19-9 does not cause cancer; rather, it is a protein that is produced by the tumour cells, making it useful as a tumour marker to follow the course of the cancer.
